My inspiration for this assignment was a fairy garden with a very fantasy and magical feel. For the pips, I wanted them to be unique so I thought of ways to have them still represent their traditional forms but incorporate the magical garden into it. The hearts is a leaf, diamonds is a star, spades is an orchid, and lastly clubs is a mushroom. From the beginning I knew I wanted to have my queen represented by a fairy and I thought it would be fun for the jack to be a garden gnome. For the box design I was inspired by ornate gates which would also have the double meaning as the entrance to the garden once you flip the card over to the number side. All illustrations were made using Adobe Illustrator, cards layouts were created in Adobe Indesign, and Adobe Photoshops for the digital mockups.
